Lights Out by Navessa Allen My rating: 5 of 5 stars I absolutely devoured this book and I am not okay that it’s over. The humor in this story is genuinely chef’s kiss. I was laughing out loud more times than I can count, which I did not expect going in. Josh and Aly have such incredible chemistry and honestly? I could read an entire series just about them. Give me more of those two, please and thank you. I read it on Kindle and also listened to the audiobook, and I cannot recommend the audio experience enough. It takes everything up a notch and truly brought the characters to life in the best way. I am already itching to dive into the next book. Altar of Lies by Jenika Snow My rating: 5 of 5 stars Okay, I need to talk about this book because WOW. Grayson. GRAYSON. I am not okay. He completely stole my heart and I loved every single second in his POV. The dual POV in this book was chef's kiss. It was executed so well and really deepened the story in a way that had me completely invested. The pacing was perfect. Jenika Snow kept me hooked from page one and I genuinely could not put this down. The plot twists and OMG moments? I did not see them coming. At all. I was screaming. There was one chapter that pulled me out of the story a little because of the POV shift, but I don't want to say more to avoid spoilers. Just know it was a minor thing in an otherwise incredible read. If you love dark romance, cult books and all the angst, this one is absolutely for you. The Boy Across the Water by J.D. Hughes My rating: 5 of 5 stars J.D. Hughes has written something truly special here. The atmosphere pulls you in from the very first pages and refuses to let go. The setting feels real. The kind that lingers in your mind after you've closed the book. Ruin by Jolie Vines My rating: 4 of 5 stars Ruin by Jolie Vines is an emotional and intense romance with a lot of promise, but it fell a bit short for me in execution. While the overall premise is gripping and the connection between the main characters is undeniable, the pacing felt uneven at times. On the positive side, the author does a great job creating high-stakes tension and building a vivid world. The chemistry between the leads is strong, and there are plenty of passionate moments that will satisfy romance fans. Jolie Vines writes engaging dialogue, and the secondary characters add nice depth to the story.
