Ruin by Jolie Vines is an emotional and intense romance with a lot of promise, but it fell a bit short for me in execution. While the overall premise is gripping and the connection between the main characters is undeniable, the pacing felt uneven at times.

On the positive side, the author does a great job creating high-stakes tension and building a vivid world. The chemistry between the leads is strong, and there are plenty of passionate moments that will satisfy romance fans. Jolie Vines writes engaging dialogue, and the secondary characters add nice depth to the story.

However, some plot points felt rushed, while other sections dragged, making it hard to stay fully immersed. I also struggled to connect deeply with the main characters' motivations during a few key conflicts.

Ultimately, it is a decent, entertaining read with a solid romantic core, but it did not completely blow me away. It is worth a read if you enjoy the author's style, but it just lacked the extra spark needed to make it a top favorite for me.
