The pacing felt slow and the story leaned heavily on backstory and setup without giving me enough momentum to keep going. I wanted to connect with Anna, but by chapter 5 I was still waiting for the story to really begin.

This just wasn’t the right book for me. I’m grateful for the ARC and wish the author all the best with the series.

He completely stole my heart and I loved every single second in his POV. The dual POV in this book was chef's kiss. Review: Lights Out

Lights Out by Navessa Allen My rating: 5 of 5 stars I absolutely devoured this book and I am not okay that it’s over. The humor in this story is genuinely chef’s kiss. I was laughing out loud more times than I can count, which I did not expect going in. Josh and Aly have such incredible chemistry and honestly? I could read an entire series just about them. Give me more of those two, please and thank you. I read it on Kindle and also listened to the audiobook, and I cannot recommend the audio experience enough. It takes everything up a notch and truly brought the characters to life in the best way. I am already itching to dive into the next book. Navessa Allen has officially earned a permanent spot on my auto-buy list. If you’re on the fence, consider this your sign, just start it. You won’t regret it. View all my reviews
